Whether you’re craving a hearty pasta dish, a flavorful pizza, or something with a unique twist, this charming spot brings the bold flavors of Italy to Massachusetts in a way that’s bound to leave a lasting impression.

From the moment you step into the cozy yet welcoming space, you can tell that Typical Sicilian isn’t just another restaurant-it’s a celebration of tradition, taste, and the art of Italian cooking. What stands out immediately is the menu, which is carefully curated to include time-honored Sicilian recipes, many of which have been passed down through generations. The variety here means that whether you’re a fan of seafood, poultry, or vegetarian dishes, you’ll find something to savor. One of the most popular items on the menu is the classic Sicilian pizza, topped with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and a perfectly balanced mix of herbs. It's the kind of pizza that makes you feel like you're sitting in a trattoria by the Mediterranean.

Sicilian cuisine is all about quality ingredients and bold flavors, and Typical Sicilian certainly delivers on both fronts. The chefs use locally sourced produce, combined with spices and seasonings directly inspired by Sicily's culinary roots. Fresh basil, garlic, and olive oil are constants, but it's the house-made sausage and rich tomato sauces that really take each dish to the next level. For those with dietary preferences or restrictions, you’ll also find plenty of options, from gluten-free pizza to vegetarian pastas that still stay true to the heart of Sicilian flavors.

When it comes to customer experiences, Typical Sicilian stands out for its hospitality. The service is warm, attentive, and efficient, ensuring that your meal is as enjoyable as possible from start to finish. Guests have commented on how staff members go above and beyond, offering suggestions based on their preferences and explaining the details of the menu in a friendly, down-to-earth manner. It’s clear that this restaurant prides itself on more than just its food-it’s about creating an atmosphere where customers feel like they are part of a family.

One dish that has earned rave reviews is their “Caponata Siciliana,” a Sicilian eggplant stew made with olive oil, tomatoes, and a perfect touch of vinegar for a sweet and sour combination that leaves you wanting more. It’s a true reflection of the island’s ability to blend rich flavors, and this dish has become a favorite for many. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Sicilian food or someone trying it for the first time, the experience is bound to surprise and delight.

If you’re looking for something different, Typical Sicilian also offers an assortment of fresh seafood options that reflect the coastal influences of Sicily. From the light and crispy calamari to the delicate grilled branzino, you’ll find that the seafood dishes are prepared with the same level of care and attention to detail as the more traditional pasta and pizza options. The seafood is often highlighted with lemon and fresh herbs, giving each dish a refreshing, vibrant taste that feels perfect for any season.

The restaurant also excels in providing a variety of desserts that perfectly round off any meal. The cannoli, for example, is light and perfectly sweet, filled with creamy ricotta and chocolate chips. It’s the kind of dessert that transports you straight to the streets of Palermo, enjoying a treat as the sun sets over the Mediterranean.

No matter the occasion, Typical Sicilian offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a great meal with friends or family. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual bite or celebrating a special event, you can expect authentic Sicilian flavors and a level of hospitality that makes you feel right at home. The location in East Longmeadow provides easy access for locals and visitors alike, and it’s quickly become a go-to spot for those craving a genuine taste of Italy.

  • I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a pene typical with grilled chicken dinner over the phone and was quoted 35-40 minutes. I was coming from work so I arrived early, but the timing was right on, so no complaints there. There were many orders coming out of the kitchen and people in and out while I waited. Starting with the pepperoni pizza. The cook was excellent, light char on the crust, cheese perfectly melted. The crust was tender, sauce had a good fresh tomato flavor and the pepperoni had a nice spice to it. The cheese was also very good in flavor and texture and was the right amount for the pizza. The pasta was cooked well, perfect al dente. The chicken was flavorful and tender and there was a good amount in the pasta. The sauce is different from other cream sauces, but very good and part of the reason they are so popular. A must try if you like cream based sauces on your pasta. Overall a great take out restaurant and worth ordering on a regular basis if you are in the area or a must try if you are from out of town.

  • Good dependable pastas for trying to feed a crowd. Bucket of pastas is unique carry out format. The chicken Marsala and meatballs are good entrees. The garlic bread is a must!

  • Oh my god, really good food for the price. We went on a weeknight so only had to wait 10 minutes for a seat. EDIT: Went back on a Saturday, still AMAZINGLY good food. I don’t know how they make what appears to be simple fare taste so good. We arrived right at 5pm, when they open, and still had to wait an hour so get there early, its worth it!

  • In short: an authentic, deliciously comforting, gourmet dining experience downsized to take out only. Order times are on the longer side, usually they say 40 minutes, but I'm more than ok waiting, it's well worth it. You can tell it's made fresh and with quality ingredients. They are very consitent in quality, portions, and good service. I have never had an issue with an order or had to wait for service. The snug parking issue is forgotten as soon as you walk into an always clean and welcoming place that keeps your food warm for you in case you're running a bit late. The prices are higher than your average pizza place but Typical Sicilian is far from average. My wife and I have been tasting our way thru the menu and there is no disappointment in sight. Everything, from the positive anticipation after opening the containers, to that first bite that gives you that deeply satisfying "mmmmm", is just a pleasant experience every time. I have added some pictures of a few dishes we have tried, to be clear, some are so good that my wife dug in faster than I could get the camera. My wife loves the Chicken Francaise here. I recommend you check the specials regularly, I appreciate that they actually update this unlike a lot of places. Just last night I was a little sad they didn't have the Penne vodka with chicken and prosciutto anymore, but quickly got excited to see the stuffed pork chop that I immediately decided on and it was GOOOOOD!! The maple bourbon cream is amazing and I saved the leftover sauce for a chicken and waffle breakfast I made this morning...I might need to ask if I can buy a bottle of just the sauce! Speaking of sauces, the Typical sauce is perfect for pasta, it's creamy but not too heavy, much better than any alfredo sauce I've had. I personally love tortellini and maybe some day I'll find a tortellini dish in the specials (besides the soup I hear is very good and will be trying). The flavor palette of the menu covers hearty pasta, wood fire pizza, Mediterranean type salads and apps, and also covers your meaty dinner cravings.
